The expected rush to the citizens' meeting in Holzkirchen on Wednesday evening did not materialize.
The event started on time, with around 150 people waiting in front of the door.
Holzkirchen
– Usually a few dozen interested people take part in town meetings.
This time it was different.
The discussion about the refugee situation attracted significantly more visitors than usual on Wednesday evening.
A good 300 visitors ultimately sat in the Oberbräu hall, all of them from Holzkirchner.
Reason: Access to the hall was strictly regulated this time.
At the entrance, visitors had to show their ID.
But the expected rush did not materialize.
When the doors closed shortly before 7:30 p.m., around 150 people were still standing on the forecourt.
They were mainly opponents of the asylum accommodation in Warngau and Holzkirchen, most of them came from outside.
In relevant WhatsApp groups, opponents of the asylum accommodation in Warngau had previously called for people to show dissatisfaction at the Holzkirchner citizens' meeting.
But the “Holzkirchen is colorful” alliance, which opposes hate speech and racism, and the “Warngau is humane” initiative also mobilized their supporters.
Many from the Holzkirchner Alliance stood in front of the entrance early and therefore took up many of the seats in the hall.
The police were present in the area of Herdergarten and Marktplatz in Holzkirchen.

Event can start on time
The situation in front of the Oberbräusaal remained calm.
The police were present with several personnel carriers and had the situation under control.
A good hour before the start, Pastor Gottfried Doll expelled a demonstrator who wanted to protest against the asylum accommodation on church property.
He should go over to the Oberbräu, he won't allow that here.
This time the Oberbräu hall was well filled for the citizens' meeting.
But there was no crowd.
