Seven courageous women at the helm of a historic printing company in Città di Castello have defended their workplace by overcoming various difficulties: they are Nadia Giorgeschi, Monica Veschi, Fiorella Podrini, Marta Scarabicchi, Roberta Volpi, Anna Rita and Tatiana Castellani, of the Linoservice Sas company , active in prepress and digital printing.
In 2020, the sudden death of the owner, founder of the company, put his wife, granddaughter and other employees against the wall who, after a few days of understandable confusion, continued with an all-female management.
A beautiful story of determination and solidarity, which the Municipality wanted to celebrate on 8 March with a short ceremony in the company, in the presence of the president of the Alto Tiber section of Confindustria, Raoul Ranieri and Don Giorgio Mariotti, a priest involved in social issues.
The mayor, Luca Secondi, together with the councillors, Michela Botteghi, Letizia Guerri and Benedetta Calagreti, presented the owner and employees with a commemorative plaque which underlines the "ethical values in the workplace and social sphere".
"We all attended the professional institute for industry and craftsmanship - explains the owner Tatiana Castellani - and as soon as we left school we entered this reality, finding a place made of friendship and mutual respect".
"In 2020, Claudio Mancini, the pillar of the company, husband of Anna Rita Castellani, suddenly passed away. We felt the ground sinking under our feet both because of the immense pain and because we found ourselves deciding whether to continue or stop. Then,
however, his wife Rita, my aunt, and all of us courageously rolled up our sleeves and moved forward."
From that moment Tatiana took over from her uncle and Rita remained at her side in managing the business.
Then Covid arrived.
"It was hard, very hard indeed - continues the owner - but this time too we didn't give up, and as always together, with a smile and the desire not to give up, we are also emerging from this period. Today, in our own small way, we are still a reality that can say its in the prepress and digital printing sector".
