Trump rails against the Justice Department and demands a delay in the legal process over the documents affair.
The process should only start after the presidential election.
Palm Beach – In his usual manner, Donald Trump raged against the US Department of Justice on Sunday (March 3rd) on his in-house social media platform “Truth Social”.
“We are in the middle of an election.
'Super Tuesday' is coming up soon.
According to Justice Department guidelines, they shouldn't prosecute me.” The ex-president, as usual, complained about his unfair treatment in the court cases.
He continued to rail, this time in all capital letters: “This is election interference and should be stopped in court.”

Trump is referring here to his upcoming court case over the documents affair.
The ex-president took numerous documents that were classified as secret to his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach after his presidency.
The documents were inadequately secured and should not have left the White House.
In total, Trump faces 40 counts,

On Friday, Trump and his lawyers tried to postpone the start of the trial until after the presidential election in November.
The trial's current start date is May 20, but Trump's legal team considers the start of the hearings to be "unfair."
Todd Blanche, Trump's lawyer, argued in court: "We continue to believe that a trial taking place before the election is a mistake and should not take place.
There is no reason why this process cannot begin before the end of November.”
A delay in the Trump trial seems likely - a date has not yet been set
According to ABC News,
Jack Smith, special counsel in the Mar-a-Lago case, suggested July 8 as an alternative trial start date.
Trump's team was cooperative and had suggested August 12 as a possible second start date if the process had to start before the presidential election.
Judge Aileen Cannon has not yet decided on the final start date.

However, it seems likely that Judge Cannon will grant Trump a reprieve until after the presidential election.
In a
CNN
interview on Saturday (March 2), Renato Mariotti, a former prosecutor, gave his assessment.
“There are so many criminal trials coming up, and when it comes to Mar-a-Lago, Judge Aileen Cannon has really shown a willingness to push back that trial and give Trump's team as much leeway as possible.”
He went on to say that he considered it unrealistic for the judge to force the trial before the elections.
“I find it difficult to imagine that she will corner him, especially given that the classified documents represent a complex element that gives her the opportunity to further delay the process.”
Trump versus Haley next Super Tuesday
“Super Tuesday” on March 5th represents the climax of the Republican primaries. On this day, 15 states elect the future presidential candidate.
In total, around a third of all delegate votes, namely 874 of the primaries, can be won.
This means that Trump could theoretically be confirmed as the presidential candidate one to two weeks after “Super Tuesday” and have collected the necessary 1,215 delegate votes.
Nikki Haley wants to continue to offer Republican voters an alternative to Trump, at least until Super Tuesday.
According to surveys, she will not be able to slow down the ex-president on Super Tuesday, but the 52-year-old is remaining steadfast for the time being.
