Luca Falcon, a 35-year-old from Verona who in 2020 together with his wife Giulia Trabucco founded "Karma on the road", a non-profit association engaged in collecting donations of used or discarded prostheses, which were then reused, died in a road accident in Angola to give a better life opportunity to amputees in third world countries, in particular African children, victims of wars.
The details of the accident are not yet clear: Luca Falcon was crossing Africa on his motorbike and - from what has been learned - he was involved in a collision with a truck, killing him.
In 2016, the young man from Verona had already been the victim of a very serious motorbike accident in Verona, in which he lost a leg, but from that tragic event he had found the strength to found the association to help people who had suffered the same consequences.
"I will reach South Africa, or I will die trying", wrote his wife Giulia on her Facebook, quoting her husband, who had already crossed some African countries on this trip with her motorbike and was headed to Cape Town.
The accident occurred on Sunday, the day after Falcon's 35th birthday, but confirmation only came last night.
The family members are in contact with the Italian Embassy in Angola for the repatriation operations of the body.
