The Dirndl Club in Warngau is reviving the blood donation challenge.
The women have already donated and other clubs have been nominated.
Holzkirchen/Warngau – “Do good and talk about it,” goes a saying.
The Warngau Dirndl Club goes a decisive step further: the ladies have donated blood and are now calling on other clubs to follow their exemplary commitment as part of a blood donation challenge.
After all, it's about honor.
And a snack for the dirndl club if the challenge is not accepted.
Those challenged have until the end of April.
Dirndl club Warngau donates blood: challenge for three clubs
“It didn’t hurt at all,” assured board member Melanie Schwatzer.
Together with other members of the Dirndl Club in Warngau, she bravely took a seat on the lounger at the BRK's most recent blood donation event in Holzkirchen.
The motivation: a service to society.
“We are young people.
We are dynamic and sporty – the ideal target group,” explained Schwatzer.
To ensure that the donation was of optimal quality, the women made sure to eat a healthy diet in advance and abstained from alcohol in keeping with Lent.
The original idea for the Warngau blood donation challenge goes back to the Oster-Oberwarngau boys' association.
Its former chairman, Valentin Schwatzer, came up with this when no boys' festival could take place at the beginning of the corona pandemic and the associated donation threatened to be canceled.
Two years ago the charitable campaign fell asleep.
Blood donation challenge: These clubs are nominated
In order to put an end to this break, the Warngau Dirndl Club has now called on the SV Warngau 1962 sports club and the SV Warngau youth development club to take part in the blood donation challenge.
This must be completed by the end of April.
Schwatzer – herself a first-time donor – explains the time span by saying that there are overlaps in the members of the nominated clubs.
This means they can compete for several clubs, keeping in mind that they have time to regenerate their bodies.
Schwatzer didn't think the donation itself was a bad thing: "We were well looked after and felt like we were in good hands."
