Everyone was looking forward to the event.

Steingaden

– The curtain rose sharply at 8 p.m. and one thing immediately became clear: This is not a “normal” play.

On the left side of the stage there were narrators who artfully reproduced the original texts of the original cinema script.

By the way: Everything from the region is also available in our regular Schongau newsletter.

And in our Weilheim-Penzberg newsletter.

The language itself is a literary feast, plus the actors from the Guelph stage, who, with a minimalist stage design, presented the scenes precisely and in sync with the speakers and the background music with expressive facial expressions and body language.

In addition, the changing dynamics of the speed of speech and acting from rapidly to absolute standstill and silence.

Very impressive.

Rousing mix of melancholy and humor

From the beginning, the audience was captivated by this wonderful mixture of melancholy and humor on stage.

The play was about Henri, played realistically by Jakob Hindelang, being more than tired of the monotonous life in England.

When he is fired without notice, he decides to die.

However, several suicide attempts failed.

The hook in the ceiling didn't hold, the gas in the stove stopped as soon as he stuck his head in it.

And so he hired a professional killer, played by Felix Kainz, to do this for him.

Then he meets the love of his life

Since Henri waited for days for the killer but he didn't come, he decided for the first time in his life to drink alcohol in the bar he had never been to before.

If he had to die, then he would like to taste this substance again.
