The release committee will discuss in May the early release of the serial rapist Benny Sela.
Sela was convicted in 2000 of sexual offenses including sexual assault, rape and sodomy acts.
He was sentenced to 35 years in prison, the most severe punishment imposed on a sex offender in the State of Israel.
In 2006 he managed to escape when he was in police custody.
He was captured two weeks later following an extensive manhunt, and was sentenced to four more years in prison.
In 2015, his cellmate in the prison complained to the prison service officials that he was raped by Sela.
Central district investigators were invited to the scene and collected testimony from the complainant.
That same year he committed an indecent act at a dentist in the prison where he was serving his prison sentence, for which the court sentenced him to another six months in prison.
About three years ago the Magistrate's Court in Ramla sentenced him to two more years in prison following an indecent act he committed in front of a female guard who was standing near his detention cell.
He was also ordered to compensate the jailer with NIS 5,000.
