Southeast of Berlin, Germany, the Tesla “gigafactory” has been the target of several actions in recent weeks.
On Tuesday, sabotage claimed by the small far-left group Vulkangruppe forced the American car manufacturer to stop activity at its European factory.
Activists claim responsibility for the arson which knocked out an electricity pylon near the site.
Tesla “eats land, resources, men, labor and to do so spits out 6,000 SUVs, killing machines and Monster trucks per week,” denounces this small far-left group in a press release.
The boss of Tesla, Elon Musk, described as “techno-fascist” by activists, castigated this stoppage of production, the damage of which is estimated at several hundred million euros.
“They are either the stupidest eco-terrorists on the planet, or the puppets of those who do not have good environmental objectives,” he declared on X (formerly Twitter).
The Minister President of the Land of Brandenburg, Dietmar Woidke (Social Democrat), denounced “a form of terrorism” in the “Süddeutsche Zeitung”, a daily newspaper from the south of the country, cited by Courrier International.
