“Zum Lausbub” is the name of the newly opened restaurant in Eckersdorf.

It follows a traditional restaurant.

The operator Sven Vogel put a lot of thought into the name.

Eckersdorf – Schnitzel, Schäufele and vegetarian dishes.

The menu of the newly opened “Zum Lausbub” inn is sure to make the hearts of culinary lovers beat faster.

The 36-year-old operator Sven Vogel and his team opened the restaurant in the Bayreuth district on Sunday, February 18th - and focuses entirely on Franconian-Bavarian cuisine.

Vogel is the successor to the “Drei Linden” restaurant, which closed last year after 27 years of operation.

The trained restaurant specialist has long wanted to open his own restaurant: “It has always been a dream of mine.

All that was missing was the right property.”

Vogel has now found it – and extensively renovated it.

Since November 2023, he and his team have designed a new interior and renovated the beer garden.

The interior now offers space for 65 guests, and 150 visitors can eat and drink in the beer garden.

“We can hardly save ourselves from reservations”

The restaurant wants to appeal to young and old with its Franconian hospitality.

It was able to prove this straight away on opening day.

“It was huge.

The opening day lasted from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.,” the restaurant owner tells our editorial team.

Around 1,000 guests attended throughout the day.

So far the great rush has not let up.

“We can hardly save ourselves from reservations,” explains Vogel in an interview.

“Young” and “fresh”: the operator wanted a name with recognition value

The tavern's namesake - a rascal - comes from Franconia and represents a boy who gets excited about every prank.

“My mother always said that to me,” remembers the operator.

He chose the name because it was “young” and “fresh” and had recognition value.
