Did the transport authority in Île-de-France, Île-de-France Mobilités (IDFM), want Google Maps to be closed to better transport tourists during the Olympic Games?
This is the rumor that ignited the Internet a few weeks ago, following an interview given by Laurent Probst, its general director, to the daily Ouest-France.
Referring to Google Maps or Citymapper, the latter explained that he had asked “everyone to relay (our) transport plans so that the traveler takes the path indicated to him.
We have confidence that they will play the game. If they do not, the State will have to make the necessary decisions.
They will be asked to close their application.
This is a public safety issue.
