A grenade exploded tonight (Thursday) in Holon near the house of the grandson of the former head of the crime organization, Ze'ev Rosenstein.
The grandson, Menachem Mendel Asraf, a criminal known to the police, was arrested last week by Holon station investigators on suspicion of slightly wounding a resident of the city.
Police forces arrived at the scene and collected findings and evidence, and an investigation was opened.
There were no injuries or damage.
Rosenstein was released 3 years ago from prison, after 17 years of imprisonment.
The 69-year-old criminal was arrested in 2004 and extradited to the United States, where he was convicted of trafficking in millions of ecstasy pills, and sentenced to 12 years in prison.
In 2007 he was transferred to continue serving his sentence in Israel.
In Israel, Rosenstein was convicted as part of a plea deal of conspiracy to murder that took place on the shores of the Sea of Galilee in the early 2000s, and he was sentenced to five more years in prison.
