A two-year-old toddler was found last night (Wednesday) in critical condition in an apartment in Be'er Sheva.
He was rushed to Soroka Hospital in the city, along with his two brothers, where he was pronounced dead.
His mother, a 40-year-old resident of the city, was arrested for questioning, and will be brought in today for an extension of detention.
A preliminary investigation by the police shows that there are findings inside the mother's house that indicate the neglect of her children.
Welfare officials from the municipality of Be'er Sheva were called to the scene and immediately began treating all the children of the home.
Meanwhile, as part of the investigation being conducted at the Beer Sheva station, the police will request that the toddler's body be sent for an autopsy and examination at the Institute of Forensic Medicine.
