The approach procedure for federal police helicopters to the special helipad in Oberschleißheim would prevent the requested wind turbine.

Nothing will come of the wind turbines that the Freisinger Land citizens' energy cooperative had planned on the A 9 near Eching.
Reason: Federal Police helicopter.
Eching/district
- As the BEG announced, an application for a preliminary ruling for the planned wind farm in Echinger Gfild was rejected by the Freising district office in mid-January, "as the wind turbine applied for would prevent the approach procedure for federal police helicopters to the Oberschleißheim special heliport 6.5 kilometers away".
Although German air traffic control noted in its statement that reducing the 262.5 meter high wheel to 154.5 meters would solve the problem, that doesn't help BEG bosses Werner Hillebrand-Hansen and Andreas Henze: "That's okay “We cannot realize an economical wind turbine project in Upper Bavaria,” says Hillebrand-Hansen.
A nuisance that also affects the neighbors in Garching
A problem that is not new.
According to the Citizens' Energy Cooperative, the same helicopter corridor is already blocking wind power plans in the Garching city area, 1.5 kilometers away.
The municipality has already decided to take legal action against it.
And such corridors are also a nuisance in the northeastern district of Freising: In Wang they had to say goodbye to a favored area (Mayor Markus Stöber: “We have never seen a Bundeswehr helicopter here”), and in Hörgertshausen, town hall boss Michael Hobmaier let it go After similar bad news, even the Ministry of Defense lost steam.
“Imbalance”: More is possible in the north than in the south
However, because of the neighboring airport, locations for wind turbines are in short supply, especially in the southern part of the district.
Hillebrand-Hansen: “The rejection of the citizens’ wind farm at Echinger Gfild now weighs even more heavily.” In this case, the distance of 11.5 kilometers to the runway would have been maintained.
“The current decision further reinforces the existing imbalance regarding possible wind power locations in the district between the north and south,” complains the BEG spokesman.
But Werner Hillebrand-Hansen doesn't want to accept these conditions and is looking for a solution.
He is currently in talks with the relevant authorities.
“The question ultimately is: Is there a possibility that everyone can live with?” That’s why he hopes that the approach paths for the helicopters can be moved.
But Hillebrand-Hansen knows: “It’s not entirely uncomplicated.
Our applications are not simply rejected.” And the approach area should of course be safe.
“We don’t want there to be any accidents.”
The challenge doubles
What's annoying from the citizens' energy cooperative's point of view is that when looking for land for wind turbines, you always have to face "a double challenge": First there is the long search for suitable land, "and then when we have found one “Once we agree with the owner, we find out that it’s not possible because of such corridors,” reports Werner Hillebrand-Hansen.
He would sometimes wish that the barriers to access from authorities were lower and that such information could be obtained more quickly.
