Since then, it has remained our fear,” says Brigitte, a resident of Milly-la-Forêt (Essonne).
His female Australian Shepherd recovered after four days of hospitalization and missing a piece of her tongue.
The guilty ?
Processionary caterpillars.
In this specific case, they came from nests in the pines on the neighbors' plot.
Following this accident, and to avoid other victims (animals or humans), Brigitte launched a petition among the inhabitants of her town.
Result: a permanent municipal decree in Milly-la-Forêt now obliges the owners of contaminated trees to do what is necessary to eradicate the processionaries.
