Is that “curious” or “completely crazy”?

The rift between Reichling's mayor, some local councilors and many residents became clear in a large group at the citizens' meeting, to which 205 visitors came to the Happerger Hall in Ludenhausen.

Reichling/Ludenhausen

– It was already after 11.30 p.m. when the Reichling citizens' meeting, which had lasted for four hours, came to an end after several appeals for people to pull together and work together.

City hall boss Johannes Hintersberger replied that he was also interested in repairing the breach.

By the way: Everything from the region is also available in our regular Schongau newsletter.

And in our Weilheim-Penzberg newsletter.

At the citizens' meeting he twice referred to the list with almost 600 signatures that had been collected locally at the end of last year.

As reported, he was asked to resign because of his political style and administration.

Mayor wants to approach critics

At that time, four local councilors were among the initiators.

Hintersberger announced at the meeting that he would like to “go around” on a few weekends in the summer and ask where the problem is.

The last citizens' meeting in December 2022 in the village community center in Reichling lasted four hours and only ended at midnight.

Almost 15 months later, the Happerger Hall in Ludenhausen lasted another four hours.

Of course, this time it started half an hour earlier.

Legal supervision representative follows meeting

Initially, Hintersberger apologized to the Landsberg district administrator.

He had only received news from his office that morning that Thomas Eichinger would not be coming to the town hall meeting in Ludenhausen.

In the second row of visitors to the citizens' meeting, behind Mirjam Hintersberger, the mayor's wife, and behind several local councilors, Maximilian Schuler from the legal supervision department of the Landsberg district office was closely following the citizens' meeting.

As reported, Hintersberger had been pressured by the local authority in advance to finally call the citizens' meeting for 2023.

In his summary of the past year, 2023, Hintersberger mentioned, in addition to the community measures and activities, his wedding in June to his wife Mirjam.

He also discussed - also supported by a picture on the screen - the collection of signatures “That's enough” in the community, which he referred to with the word “curious”.

The town hall boss said that he had never seen the list from the initiators to this day.

He thinks it's a shame that those affected only sought contact with him after the action.

Clear words from the citizens

After a long period of information on the topics of building a new kindergarten in Ludenhausen and gas drilling on the Lech, there were several requests to speak on the topic of collecting signatures, despite the hour being late.

A young citizen appealed to the town hall boss not to dismiss the “That's enough” signature campaign as a smear campaign or dubious.

The speaker added that such a sentiment could very well reach the mayor.

Hintersberger replied that it was certainly worth questioning how the list of signatures came about.

What he meant was a lack of background information on the part of the signatories without information from the local council.

And he asked “how honest the mood” was.

The community leader added that he had also heard from people who called afterwards and said they wanted to get off the list again.

The impression of a citizen: rumors and gossip

Another man in the room demanded that Hintersberger's opponents “hunker down” and thoroughly research what they could do better.

But the mayor must ask himself the question.

Hintersberger said about Reichling's general external impact: “We behaved like the biggest idiots” because some local councilors wouldn't talk to the mayor.

A short interjection from the hall: “Or vice versa not.”

A woman from Reichling also spoke up: She had been to every public council meeting in the past 15 months.

Your impression: There are rumors and rumors in the committee.
