'The path of the invisible' is the theme of the third edition of 'Driving Energy 2024 - Contemporary Photography', Terna's competition, open to all professional and amateur photographers in Italy, aimed at promoting the cultural development of the country and new talents.

The finalist works will be exhibited at Palazzo Esposizioni in Rome, in an exhibition open free to the public.

Until June 30, photographers are invited to interpret the different forms of invisible energy which, however, produce visible effects: a way to celebrate the talent and uniqueness of art that manages to see realities that for many do not exist, or they don't exist yet.

The new edition confirms the approach of the previous one, which saw around 2,800 members.

This year too, there are five awards with prizes of up to 15 thousand euros. "We aspire to be the Witch of photography prize and we are getting close to being", said the curator Marco Delogu, president of Palaexpo, at the presentation of the competition.

“For Terna, culture is a strategic resource and the commitment to cultural promotion is an important element in carrying out our role for the country: for this reason we have given continuity to our commitment with a high-profile project such as the Driving Energy award” , declared the president of Terna, Igor De Biasio.

It is "an ambitious project - observed the president - which aims to become a point of reference in the sector in the shortest possible time".

"The theme of the award allows us to bring to the attention of all citizens the fundamental aspects of our mission, the values we share" starting from sustainability, said Terna's CEO and general manager, Giuseppina Di Foggia.

The awards are the Senior Award, worth 15 thousand euros, open to participants aged 31 and over, the Youth Award, worth 5 thousand euros, dedicated to photographers up to the age of 30, the Amateur Award, worth 5 thousand euros, open to those who do not professionally pursue a career as photographers, the Academy Mention, worth 2 thousand euros, open to students enrolled in higher education institutions in the sectors relevant to the Award, and the Opera Mention most voted by Terna, worth 2 thousand euros, open to all categories and assigned by Terna people who will vote for their favorite work among the finalists, previewing them on the TernaCult portal, a cultural promotion platform for exclusive internal use.

Also for the new edition the president of the Jury is Lorenza Bravetta.

Alongside her and the curator Delogu are new jurors chosen from among high-profile personalities in the sectors of reference of the award: Francesca Barbi Marinetti, art critic, curator and cultural entrepreneur;

Rosa Alba Impronta, collector, entrepreneur and founder of the Made in Cloister project;

They have the task of awarding the Academy Mention.

“2024 is most likely the year of consecration for the Driving Energy Award, an extraordinary result for a project born only two years ago.

The third edition of the competition kicks off benefiting from the intense work carried out so far with Terna: the Award has now become a highly awaited event by professionals and is recognized as a fundamental stage of contemporary photography in Italy", declared Marco Delogu, Curator of the Prize.
