The young woman was the companion of a drug dealer, whom she would have informed about the various police operations carried out in her area.
The arrest of the young deputy gendarme from Fourmies was preceded by a raid of around a hundred gendarmes in mid-February in the town located a few kilometers from the Belgian border.
Residents had been arrested, amid suspicion of a drug network.
The police seized drugs and cash.
At the end of their police custody, the couple was brought before the Avesnes-sur-Helpe public prosecutor's office and the case was handed over to the hearing scheduled for Tuesday March 12.
The gendarme and the dealer were placed in pre-trial detention pending trial.
