The Anne Frank High School Erding now has a values ambassador - with ministerial blessing: Sina Neueder from Siglfing near Erding.
Erding - After a week-long course, she received the certificate from Bavaria's Minister of Education, Anna Stolz (FW).
The 14-year-old experienced how perseverance can turn defeat into success.
Sina attends class 9d at AFG.
“I actually ran for student representative, but I wasn’t elected,” the young person tells our newspaper.
But the counselors still had her on their radar: “They recommended that I apply as a values ambassador.”
And the 14-year-old promptly got on the train and went to the Wartaweil school camp on Ammersee for a week - together with 26 other eighth and ninth graders from Upper Bavaria.
“It was a very intensive time, we spent a lot of time thinking about values,” says the high school student.
She learned what values there are, such as helpfulness, and how these can be conveyed.
They also made a film together and had an exchange with representatives of the Institute of Philosophy.
What sounds so abstract can be so simple: “By simply holding the door open for other people,” explains Sina and laughs.
On the last day, the ministry's appreciation followed - Stolz personally presented the certificates.
“I think it's great that you want to inspire your classmates about values.
We need young people like you who are committed to good coexistence,” said Stolz, according to a statement from her company.
The project is called “Values set a school” and is supported by the ministry and Schullandheimwerk eV.
For Sina, the work is only just beginning - as a values ambassador, she is supposed to inspire her classmates at the AFG about the topic.
There will be an SMV meeting tomorrow, Friday, where the 14-year-old will report.
Great things could arise from this: The ministry is envisioning the establishment of working groups, campaigns or project days – all “for respectful and responsible cooperation,” says Stolz.
