Moving in was repeatedly postponed, but now the first refugees have arrived at the new state accommodation in Gera.
There were no incidents with demonstrators.
Erfurt - The first new residents have moved into the state's new refugee accommodation in Gera.
A minibus with the first refugees arrived at the former women's clinic on Thursday afternoon, as a photographer from the German Press Agency observed.
According to the Interior Ministry, nine people were initially taken to the accommodation.
According to dpa information, there were no incidents with people protesting against the refugee accommodation.
Accordingly, the refugees reached the accommodation unnoticed by the demonstrators.
There are repeated protests in front of the new accommodation; on Wednesday, according to police reports, around 80 people gathered there.
According to previous information from the city of Gera, the meeting is registered until Sunday.
The organizer of the protest is a well-known actor in the right-wing scene in Gera.
At the end of January he had already led an unannounced demonstration in front of the planned home.
At that time, construction fences were also erected in front of the accommodation.
The police broke up the action at that time.
According to the Interior Ministry, around 170 people are expected to be admitted to the former clinic in Gera.
This is intended to relieve the burden on the initial reception center in Suhl.
According to the information, the residents who have now moved in will only stay there for a few weeks and will then be distributed to the communal accommodation in the districts and independent cities.
