The holiday island of Mallorca is no longer as cheap for travelers as it once was.
Nevertheless, it will still be cheaper in 2024 than last year.
The times when holidaymakers could fly to Mallorca for a low double-digit amount have been over since the Corona pandemic at the latest.
Nevertheless, travelers can look forward to lower flight ticket prices compared to the previous year, as an analysis by the booking portal
Skyscanner
has shown.
Mallorca flights for this summer are significantly cheaper than in 2023
After holidaymakers have been constantly confronted with higher prices for flights, hotels and rental cars in recent years, they can breathe a sigh of relief this year.
The travel booking portal
HolidayCheck
predicts a moderate price increase of three percent for summer vacations in 2024 compared to the previous year.
For comparison: from 2022 to 2023, costs rose by a whopping eleven percent.
And it apparently gets even better: the Germans' favorite holiday destination, Mallorca, is even getting a lot cheaper on plane tickets.
A return flight from Frankfurt to the Balearic Island in June costs on average 18 percent less than last year, as data from
Skyscanner
shows.
The situation is similar for flights from Hamburg in July.
Anyone who starts their trip from Berlin will only pay a quarter of the 2023 price. From Hanover, the savings in August are 27 percent.
And this despite the fact that the comparison portal recorded an enormous increase in flight searches for Mallorca in January of 302 percent.
This year there are comparatively cheap flights to Mallorca.

“In order to get real bargains in 2024, you have to be flexible and know how to search and compare offers.
The best thing for travelers to do is to start by setting up a price alert that will notify them when prices on their desired route drop or there are new offers," advises Skyscanner travel expert Friederike Burge.
“Another tip is to compare nearby departure airports.
For example, travelers can save up to 27 percent when flying from Memmingen instead of Munich on the same travel date in May.”
And there are actually supposed to be offers where travelers only pay less than 50 euros for a return trip to Mallorca: However, holidaymakers have to be quick, because these prices are mainly available in the months of March and April, for example Berlin.
According to Burge, there are also cheap flights from Cologne in July – for upwards of 77 euros.

Price increases for Mallorca flights possible throughout the year
As is often the case when booking a holiday, the earlier travelers book, the cheaper the offers are.
The first price increases are already looming.
The airline Ryanair is struggling with capacity bottlenecks as the delivery of new Boeing aircraft is delayed, as the German Press Agency (dpa) reports.
The airline boss Michael O'Leary therefore assumes that ticket prices for the summer of 2024 could increase by five to ten percent.
“If capacities were to grow, I think prices would fall,” he adds.

In addition, from May 2024, the ticket tax on airfares will increase by around 19 percent.
This will probably be passed on to customers by the airlines.
So if you want to save yourself some money for travel this year - no matter where your vacation goes - you should book your flight tickets beforehand.
