Highlights: Île-de-France Mobilités assesses punctuality of the metro and RER. Lines 3 (84% punctuality), 6 (86%), 8 (82%), 12 (87%) and 13 (84%) remain the least regular on the network. There is better.

But significant progress is still needed.

Here is the January bulletin's assessment of the punctuality of the metro and RER.

This document, published on the Île-de-France Mobilités website, gives the percentages of trains on time, line by line.

After a very mediocre autumn on almost half of the metro lines, these new figures show a slight improvement.

Lines 3 (84% punctuality), 6 (86%), 8 (82%), 12 (87%) and 13 (84%) remain the least regular on the network.

But all recorded some points of improvement compared to December.

8, 12 and 13 each earn around 5 points.

“Line-by-line action plans have been put in place for rapid corrections,” recall the Ile-de-France transport authority.

The 7 is also recovering (+ 3 pts).

On the other hand, lines 3 and 6 are stagnating at a mediocre level.

“As in previous months, the lack of manpower, absenteeism and maintenance of rolling stock are the main reasons for these difficulties,” estimates IDFM.

On the 8, five measures are being deployed to improve the performance of the line, such as the recruitment of additional drivers or the strengthening of maintenance, with extended periods.

Fortunately, the other underground lines do much better.

“In addition to the two automatic lines (1 and 14) and line 5 which exceed 100% regularity, lines 2, 10 and 11 are close to 100% (97%, 98% and 99% respectively) and even more above the objectives set by the contract between Île-de-France Mobilités and RATP.

With 91, 94 and 97.5% regularity respectively, lines 7, 4 and 9 are close to meeting their objectives.”

Only 80% of trains on time on the RER C

The RER B is still in difficulty, but it is progressing with 86.7% of trains on time.

“Difficulties persist on the RER C and D, particularly on the Dourdan-la-Forêt/La-Norville, Juvisy/Brétigny and Saint-Martin-d'Etampes/Marolles-en-Hurepoix axes in Essonne for the RER C , and Paris-Nord/Gare-de-Lyon, Creil/Goussainville and Villiers-le-Bel/Saint-Denis for the RER D,” notes IDFM.

The RER C shows a rate of only 80.8% of trains on time in January, making it the worst line in the SNCF network in Ile-de-France.

Certainly, “the service was impacted by the period of extreme cold which affected the region in mid-January”.

Île-de-France Mobilités is preparing a new master plan for the RER C, with several actions to sustainably improve the offer and regularity of the line.

This plan should be presented in April.

Regular users of the 15 most frequently disrupted branches will be entitled to compensation.

This is the case on the RER B north, the RER A (Cergy-le-Haut/Maisons-Laffitte axis), the C, and the D and line P. The portal for submitting your reimbursement request will be open at the end of March, only on the Île-de-France Mobilités website.
