It is a real

“outpouring of solidarity”

which has taken place in Allauch.

At the end of last week, this commune in Bouches-du-Rhône saw around fifty people mobilize to

“save”

ten Vietnamese pigs left abandoned on land which had just been transferred to new owners.

The animals, left abandoned on the land, were discovered by the buyers of the premises as they were preparing to move in.

“The previous owner left with her 19 mares, but left her twelve hungry cats and ten pigs.

Yet she was committed to getting them out

,” complains Sébastien Pasqualini to Le

Figaro

.

This advertising executive, endowed with

“deep sensitivity”

for the animal cause, launched a vast rescue operation to extract the animals and find them a safe place.

“The new owners were distraught.

They could not decently take care of these pigs.

On Saturday March 2, after observing the facts, I warned the mayor of Allauch, Lionel de Cala, who immediately responded

,” continues Sébastien Pasqualini, who took his working time to coordinate the operation.

7 people to carry a pig

“Substantial”

means

were put in place by the town hall to recover the pigs safely: around fifteen municipal agents and several construction machines were requisitioned on site.

Several elected officials, accompanied by numerous volunteers, came to support the veterinarian and the members of two debauched associations to take care of and transport the pigs to a safe place.

Five of them were able to leave their old land out of danger.

“They weigh between 50 and 80 kilos, we had to take seven people to carry one.

It wasn't easy, we had to use tranquilizers to recover them

,” explains Sébastien Pasqualini, who adds that a new operation should be organized in the coming days to recover the last five animals.

Having learned of the facts, the society for the protection of mistreated and stray animals (SPAME) quickly notified the police and announced that it was filing a complaint against the former owner of the land for

“abandonment of domestic animals”

.

We are looking for their new residence.

The ideal would be to place them all together in a place where they could end their days happily

Sébastien Pasqualini, coordinator of the Vietnamese pig rescue operation

“The pigs had access to go into the woods, but their structure was unsanitary

,” confirms Véronique Scarica, president of SPAME, to Le

Figaro

.

“This is a case of animal neglect.

The cats were found in a terrible state and the pigs did not have a veterinarian.

These are animals with great sensitivity and who cannot live alone,”

adds Sébastien Pasqualini, who specifies that a pot would soon be set up in order to establish a quote for treatment at the veterinarian.

The evacuated pigs, for their part, were temporarily taken care of by the animal welfare rescue and awareness association (ASSBEA) while they found a permanent home.

“We are looking for their new residence.

The ideal would be to place them all together in a place where they could end their days happily

,” concludes Sébastien Pasqualini.
