On Monday, four individuals were arrested by the police, suspected of having participated in trafficking in contraband cigarettes from the port of the Marseille city, one of the accused is a dockworker who is employed there .
According to consistent police sources, the four individuals had been followed since February 26 by police officers from the northern division of Marseille following a

denunciation
”
which led to their identification.
The dockworker, still wearing his reflective vest, had arranged to meet three individuals in the underground parking lot of a residence in the city's 2nd arrondissement to sell them cartons of contraband tobacco which probably came from the large seaport. from Marseille.

Caught in the act, the suspects were apprehended and arrested by the police before being able to carry out the transaction.
Around fifty cartons of tobacco and several packets of cigarettes, as well as several hundred euros were seized by the police during the intervention.
During searches carried out at the home of one of the suspects, nearly 80,000 euros in cash hidden under the mattress of a child's bed were discovered by investigators.
According to this police source, the four suspects were finally brought to court with a view to opening a judicial investigation.
