Highlights: The César Lanzarote is a new adults-only address, nestled on the island of three hundred volcanoes. This intimate address of only around twenty rooms, and adults only, displays its sense of aesthetic signed by the Spanish interior designer Virginia Nieto. Luxury is hidden here in a discreet vision of comfort, in the sense of detail (like the bathtubs created from wine barrels) and in the omnipresent feeling of space. The César Lanzarote is a new adults-only address, nestled on the island of three hundred volcanoes.

It is one of the most unusual landscapes in the world.

A carbon-black desert, dotted with basins in the center of which vine stocks flourish, protected from the wind.

A geological curiosity and a volcanic and viticultural combination which make up the beauty of the La Geria Natural Park.

The spot ?

At the heart of this UNESCO-listed biosphere reserve, a timeless 5-star address now cultivates discretion and a singular soul: the César Lanzarote.

A building typical of the island's architecture – never more than two floors – which is part of local history since it belonged to the father of the architect and artist César Manrique.

Before becoming a girls' school... and being inaugurated, in 2023, after a total renovation.

This intimate address of only around twenty rooms, and adults only, displays its sense of aesthetic signed by the Spanish interior designer Virginia Nieto.

WE love ?

in regular touches which echo the cacti, vineyards and palm trees which stand out from the window frames and offer real living paintings.

The hotel has achieved the subtle balance between the refinement of raw materials, prints and strong pieces, and the purity that this destination, preserved from all sophistication, deserves.

Luxury is hidden here in a discreet vision of comfort, in the sense of detail (like the bathtubs created from wine barrels) and in the omnipresent feeling of space.

The strong points ?

The warm welcome, the authentic cuisine (land and sea recipes cooked over embers) with the best short-circuit products, the outdoor spaces which offer a 360-degree view of the volcanic reliefs, the bean-shaped swimming pool and the numerous spaces that allow you to isolate yourself and… the fact that the hotel has its own vineyards.

What do we do ?

We take yoga classes in the great outdoors, we spend whole days on a boat, we organize a hike on the Caldera Blanca or an itinerary among the 18 bodegas working a unique volcanic vineyard in the world, we especially reserve a visit to the Museum Atlántico, the first underwater museum in Europe… with 300 submerged concrete sculptures.

To observe them, you must equip yourself with masks and snorkels and, for some, diving tanks.

A beach ?

Playa de Papagayo, in the extreme south of the island and thirty minutes from the hotel.

A tongue of golden sand and emerald water sheltered by black cliffs.

It feels like you’re at the end of the world!

The essential?

Visit the foundation of César Manrique in Taro Tahíche, built in 1968 in a lava flow.

A house with rooms carved out of volcanic bubbles, with the striking contrast of black basalt and traditional lime on the walls.

From €396 per night with breakfast (2 nights minimum).
