Gaza - There is a dispute within the terrorist organization Hamas: the head of Hamas in Gaza, Yahya Sinwar, has to defend himself from severe criticism.
The reason for this is the attack on October 7, 2023 - and how it came about.
Sinwar is said to have launched the attack without consulting other Hamas leaders,

The decision on the Hamas attack was only made the day before
Sources told the media that only Sinwar's closest circle was informed: his brother Muhammad Sinwar, Muhammad Deif, Hamas' military chief, and Marwan Issa, Hamas's deputy military commander.
They are said to have made the decision to attack.
Other Hamas leaders and the organization's Politburo were not consulted.
A report from January mentioned other decision-makers.
Palestinian sources had named Sinwar, Sinwar's brother, Deif and Sinwar associate and ex-head of the al-Qassam Brigades Rouhi Mushtaha.
Issa was not mentioned at the time.
According to the report at the time, the decision to attack was made only the day before.
Hamas field commanders not privy to concrete plans
To ensure secrecy, many Hamas field commanders were not privy to the specific details of the attack, while leaders of Al-Qassam Brigade units received information about the attack about three days earlier.
According to the January report, details of the attack reached a wider circle of Hamas leaders just hours before the attack, including Ismail Haniyeh, head of Hamas' political bureau, and Saleh Arouri, a senior Hamas leader.
Those same leaders now feel ignored by Sinwar.

Sinwar also has to face other problems: the Israeli army says it has discovered his hiding place.
Sinwar lived with his family and Hamas fighters in the tunnel section under the southern city of Khan Yunis while the war raged above them, Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari said on Tuesday evening.
He published a short video of a tour of the alleged hiding place.
