At the origin of its creation in 2022, Minister of Justice Éric Dupond-Moretti was in Nanterre on Thursday to announce the strengthening of this entity dedicated to unsolved cases and serial crimes.


It was he who brought the “cold cases” pole to the baptismal font.

It was also he who, on Thursday, unveiled new means for this entity, dedicated to unsolved cases and serial crimes, to grow.

Éric Dupond-Moretti announced “

the opening of a fourth investigation office by 2025, a new public prosecutor and a new judicial assistant.

It is also necessary that all new technologies be put at the service of this pole which is the honor of justice

 .”

Because since its creation two years ago, the “cold cases” center has filled up with the number of cases that the three investigating judges in charge of this unique judicial entity in Europe can follow: Sabine Kheris, Nathalie Turquey and Emmanuelle Ducos.

No less than 105 effective investigations are currently open: 88 judicial inquiries including 17 preliminary investigations.

That’s almost thirty cases per investigating magistrate because you have to count the routes…
