Things are going well at the water rescue service in Kochel this year.
In addition to the construction of a joint rescue center for water rescue and mountain rescue, the construction of a new boathouse is on the agenda.

As reported, there was a financial injection of almost 123,000 euros from the district's Leader action group for the boathouse in March last year.
Now the question arises as to when the work will begin.

Toni Simmeth, board member of the Kochler Wasserwacht, says: “So far we have had to struggle with a few bureaucratic challenges.” The contracts have already been awarded and a company is in place that specializes in structures in the water.
“Actually, it should have started soon, but due to the delay, the company now only has time for the project in the fall,” explains Simmeth.
There is “a certain pressure behind it, as the funding also has a time limit.” The water rescue service has to finish construction this year.
Total costs amount to around 326,000 euros
The work is extensive: Since the volunteer rescuers have to struggle with cramped conditions in the current hut, the new hut should be larger.
The location remains the same.
The new building will have a heated security and medical room.
Until now, there was neither a lounge nor a place for members to care for patients.
In addition, a boat room with a so-called slipway will be built.
The system makes it easier to insert the lifeboat at all water levels.
Until then, the water rescue service is still busy collecting donations for the project, explains the board.
The financing is secured - the total costs amount to around 326,000 euros.
“But the Bavarian Red Cross makes up the difference,” says Simmeth.
“Here we try to keep the amount as low as possible through donations.”
