New name, new management and above all new vocation: the Théâtre de la Concorde, in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, formerly Espace Cardin, is organizing its launch evening this Thursday, March 7.
“A space for debate, popular education, the fight against disinformation, the creation of opinions”, in the words of the City of Paris, owner of the walls, what will this new place really be used for, which aims to “ make art and democracy rhyme”?
“In my dream, this place is aimed at as many people as possible.
The goal is to make people who are intimidated by cultural institutions less so and to reduce this invisible barrier,” explains the new director of the establishment, Elsa Boublil.
This former journalist and cultural advisor to the mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo (PS), wishes to present “artistic creations and innovative shows which question the world and current society”, she continues.
