Highlights: Right before Passover: upgrade the house without emptying your pockets - voila! Home and design. The holiday of Passover symbolizes the opening shot for the season of renovations and upgrades. A new carpet, bright and special handles for furniture or new curtains that will regulate the light intensity can completely change the look of the space. The small items, such as pillows, art objects and accessories, are also the boldest, richest and most fashionable, in color, texture and pattern.

The basic premise regarding upgrading the house holds that only a comprehensive and fundamental renovation will create a significant change, but in practice more and more Israelis are discovering that spot refreshing and partial upgrading of elements and items

In the past decade the field of home design has broken records and as it seems right now, the situation is not going to change.

We all strive to create for our family members a warm and cozy home where it's fun to gather at the end of another day.

International companies and brands, including Israeli ones, realized a long time ago that the big money is actually in the upgrade market.

Yes, it turns out that sometimes all you need to renew the house are touches of color, stylish wallpaper for the wall, up-to-date textiles and accessories.

Along with them, an intelligent and specific change of the furniture arrangement in the various spaces can help in adapting the space to the current needs of the family and at the same time, make the environment airier and even brighter.

For many Israelis, the holiday of Passover symbolizes the opening shot for the season of renovations and upgrades.

This is a period that symbolizes blossoming and renewal, this is the time when the weather is kind to us and all of these are a good opportunity to roll up our sleeves and start working.

"We Israelis, who love to entertain and spend time with family, use the living room space frequently and as such we invest time, thought and effort in its design. In order to make it different, original and inviting it is important to create a layering of materials, textures and patterns that are built in layers, and from this great evening something new and interesting grows ", explains interior designer Nadia Roitblat, from the NR desgin studio in Sharon.

"A warm recommendation is to create a neutral shell, in which the large items that have mass and presence in the space will be dominant backgrounds to the extent that they do not take over the space. The first layer, which includes the walls, the floor, the curtains and the massive furniture, is the lightest and smoothest. On top of it are spread tone upon tone so that the tones gradually change from light to dark (gradade). The small items, such as pillows, art objects and accessories, are also the boldest, richest and most fashionable, in color, texture and pattern. They are the ones that create the drama and the WOW effect that we all want to create in this important space and in the same breath , it's easy to change them if and when you feel like it."

"A good opportunity for thorough sorting - to get rid of objects, paperwork and old children's work. This way we can give a place of respect to what is right and worthy of emphasis in the space. The furniture and objects in the living room are what define it and not necessarily the wall covering. If we know how to combine the furniture in the right position the human eye will pass "It's natural to focus on the positive, so we can humble things that we cannot change such as flooring, openings or ceiling height. A new carpet, bright and special handles for furniture or new curtains that will regulate the light intensity and create symmetry or wallpaper that will cover cracks in the wall can completely change the look of the space," she explains Roitblatt.

The in-house designer of Oknin Furniture in Netanya, Hila Hareli recommends breaking the generic look as much as possible and avoiding sets: you can break the uniform look by upholstering one of the sofas or armchairs or by refreshing the decorative pillows that you can choose according to the trends, a chic coffee table, she explains

"If your living room feels crowded, it's worth considering changing one of the armchairs to a smaller model, which will help create a much better and more comfortable flow in the space."

Benny Kohner, Alpina Lighting's lighting consultant, explains, "The lighting is a convenient, easy and available design solution. It is the undisputed star of the space. It has the power of lighting to make the room pop, to give focus to this or that element (a beautiful picture, a sculpture, an interesting piece of furniture) and equally to disguise what we seek to hide. Lighting is a design item for everything, it is the candy of the space."

The bedroom is the most intimate place in the house, in order to achieve the desired atmosphere it is recommended to avoid using bright colors like orange or red and stick to soft and relaxing shades.

Along with tones of white, you can also use shades of blue, gray and soft pastel shades that will be expressed mainly in accessories or touches of textiles.

According to Raleigh, "The bed is the star in the bedroom and it is desirable to turn it into a special, designed monumental anchor that does not necessarily require its replacement: for example, a bed back made of a wooden structure upholstered in fabric or leather can certainly do the job. To break the mass and create a space that is ONE OF HIS KIND It is recommended to purchase a nightstand next to the bed that is both practical and creates a contrast with the help of a different shade or material. Textiles, and with an emphasis on bedding, have a lot of weight in making the stay in the bedroom pleasant and high-quality. In the warm Israeli climate (in recent years also in winters) it is recommended to choose natural and breathable fabrics such as cotton and satin. It is important to choose durable linens that will survive many washes in which the density of the fabric ranges from 200-220 threads per inch in satin linens or 145-150 threads per inch in cotton linens (a detail that appears on the packaging) will ensure their durability over time."
