Most recently, SWR had to spontaneously postpone the “Schlager-Fun with Andy Borg” – a measure that the broadcaster is not ruling out in the future.

Because television viewers should primarily benefit from this.

Offenburg – Since December 2018, SWR has regularly achieved above-average ratings success with its “Schlager-Fun mit Andy Borg”.

This is hardly surprising: Andy Borg (63) enjoyed great popularity among fans of pop and folk music as the host of “Musikantenstadl”, which he presented from 2006 to 2015.

His indirect follow-up show, which he presents from the rustic wine bar in Offenburg, Baden-Württemberg, is also very popular.

Because of Helene Fischer: SWR spontaneously postponed the latest “Schlager-Fun with Andy Borg”.

But here and there the SWR changes its program, sometimes quite spontaneously.

The result: The “Schlager-Fun with Andy Borg”, which is always recorded in advance, does not run at the scheduled time, but sometimes only weeks later.

That was also the case recently: Because the first one showed a Helene Fischer concert, Andy Borg had to pass.

The broadcast scheduled for February 17th was postponed by almost a month, to March 9th.

In its annual press conference on March 6th, the SWR explained this decision again in detail: They did not want to “build up internal competition” on the ARD and had therefore spoken out in favor of a corresponding change in programming.

Schlager fans in particular should benefit from this: “We changed the planning because there are people who are equally interested in both.”

SWR explains procedure: postponements of Andy Borg's “Schlager-Fun” are by no means arbitrary

While Andy Borg's "Schlager-Fuß" ran as planned in Austria, German television viewers instead had the opportunity to see a compilation of Helene Fischer's (39) "Rausch" tour.

There is far less arbitrariness behind it than some fans might have previously assumed: “The monthly rhythm that we strive for with 'Schlager-Fun' is sometimes broken because we always make sure that we are not against a genre-like program in the ARD or ZDF programming.”

Here and there the SWR has to spontaneously cancel the “Schlager-Fun with Andy Borg” - but there is always a very precise reason for this.

Such “deviations” are also possible in the future “for the reasons mentioned,” but attempts are being made to adhere to the planning rhythm as best as possible.

Any postponements would “not affect the quality,” says program director Clemens Bratzler (52).

However, there is a lot of simmering going on behind the scenes of the big hit shows: another hit star recently complained about the Saturday evening show with Silbereisen (42) and Co.
