“I am happy to announce that I will make my return to the WTA circuit in two weeks in Miami,” she wrote on her Instagram account.
Halep can play tennis again after seeing his suspension, for two violations of anti-doping legislation, reduced from four years to nine months on Tuesday by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
She has already served her sentence between October 2022 and July 2023.
The 32-year-old Romanian, double Grand Slam winner (Roland-Garros 2018 and Wimbledon 2019), had tested positive for a banned product during the 2022 US Open, before “irregularities” in her biological passport were revealed. add to his case the following spring.
But the CAS attributed his positive test to a “contaminated supplement”, and considered that the elements taken from his blood monitoring were not sufficient to establish doping behavior.
