Police assessments for the 2024 Jerusalem Marathon/Israel Police Spokesperson
The Jerusalem Marathon will be held this coming Shabbat under the sign - "Am Yisrael Ratz" - in salute to the security forces throughout the capital city.
Hundreds of police and security forces will be deployed throughout the city during the day in order to secure the runners and direct the traffic.

Changes in traffic regulations
Rupin Street will be closed to vehicle traffic starting tonight (Thursday) at 11:30 p.m. until Friday after the event.
On the day of the race - Friday, the following streets or some of them will be closed to vehicular traffic starting at 05:30: The
Hebrew University Campus, Nathaniel Lorch, Haim Hazaz Ave., Tschernihovski, Palmach, Gaza, Hanasi, Keren Hayesod, King George ', Jaffa St., IDF Square, The Paratroopers, Haim Bar Lev St., George Adam Smith, Lehi, Martin Buber, Benjamin Mazar, Churchill, Kriv, Shaar Jaffa, the Armenian Patriarchate, Zion Gate, Jerusalem Brigade, King David, Jabotinsky, Chopin, Dubnov, Gertz, Emek Rafaim, the Railway Road, Bethlehem Road, David Ramez, Hebron Road, Yanovsky, Yehuda, Pierre Koenig, Eleazar Al Modai, Kobshi Katmon, Yehoshua Yavin , Gan Saker.
Rupin, Rabin and Ben Zvi boulevards - will be closed starting at 04:00. The full details of the changes appear on the website of the Jerusalem Municipality. Traffic disruptions are also expected on the streets adjacent to the race routes. The lanes will be opened in stages according to the progress of the runners. No vehicle traffic will be allowed parallel to the running tracks.

Highlights for the public
The police ask the public to refrain as much as possible from traveling in private vehicles near the running route and to use public transportation.
On the day of the marathon, vehicles parked along the lanes of the running routes will not be able to leave them until the lanes open.
Parking will be prohibited on Yehuda Street on both sides starting at night until the end of the marathon the following day.
The Teddy Stadium parking lot will be allocated for the benefit of runners and on the marathon island free of charge, and a free shuttle system will depart from it to the race location.
It will not be allowed to bring weapons into the marathon complex, and flying drones during the marathon is prohibited.
