“This bill is an outright ban on TikTok, no matter how much the authors try to disguise it. This legislation will trample on the First Amendment rights of 170 million Americans and deprive 5 million small businesses of a platform they rely on to grow and create jobs".
This was stated by a TikTok spokesperson regarding the measure presented by a bipartisan group of American deputies which gives the Chinese ByteDance six months to sell TikTok.
Failure to do so will result in the app being banned in the United States.
