Among the mobile telephony giants established in Shenzhen and Beijing such as Xiaomi, Oppo, Huawei and Honor, it is the least known in the Western world.
But Transsion won't be able to hide much longer.
This smartphone manufacturer, based in the epicenter of Chinese tech, has cemented itself among the heavyweights of the industry in 2023, in fifth place among the world's largest manufacturers.
In a market down 3.2% in terms of volume over the year according to IDC, Transsion delivered no less than 94.9 million mobiles, representing growth of 30.8% compared to 2022. Its share of market increased from 6% to 8.1% of the global market, behind the Chinese Oppo, Xiaomi, and the two behemoths Samsung and Apple.
