Her three grandchildren, aged three, ten and twelve, suffered minor injuries in the accident, police announced in the early hours of Thursday, March 7.
The container, loaded with several tons of shredded tree bark, fell onto the car on the winding state road 2685 between Moggast and Kanndorf in the Forchheim district.
Due to the force of the impact, the roof of the car was completely torn off.
An expert determined that the container came loose from the holder due to a technical defect.
The road had to be closed for several hours and the damage caused amounts to around 25,000 euros
