The actual numbers could be even higher.

Treasurer Georg Neudecker presented a concentrated work of more than 130 pages to the Oberdingen local council.

The administrative budget with a total volume of almost 29 million euros was on the agenda.

Although the municipality has not yet come close to the figures of previous years, an upward trend is noticeable.

Oberding - When it comes to trade tax, the rate was increased by 500,000 euros to 12.5 million euros compared to 2023, still cautious according to Neudecker.

The actual figures could be higher, because in 2022 more than 15 million euros will go from commercial businesses to the municipal treasury.

The treasurer also suspects an increase in the municipal share of income tax (almost six million euros) or sales tax (2.6 million euros).

As expected, the largest expenditure item is the district levy, and it is no longer as generous as in the past.

Two years ago, the district collected a good 20 million euros from Oberding alone; the treasurer included an estimate of almost 13.5 million euros in the current budget.

“Despite the increase in the assessment rate, it will be significantly less.

“The district won’t necessarily be happy about that,” said Neudecker about this forecast.

In Oberding, however, the clubs and institutions can look forward to it - in contrast to many other municipalities, the subsidies are not saved here, the sum even rises to 148,000 euros (2023: 140,000 euros).

Children's facilities make up one of the largest expenditure items, and there were even questioning looks from the committee in view of the new deficit figures.

Shortly before the meeting, Neudecker received a call from the management of the Erdinger Moos daycare network, to which the Oberdinger kindergarten belongs: “They told me that the deficit for the past year had increased to 786,000 euros.” The estimate was around 200,000 euros less, and the demand for reasons arose.

New tariffs for staff and, in particular, tax-free inflation compensation would have had a huge impact, said the treasurer.

For the future, the question arises as to whether Oberding will have to adjust parental contributions - other communities in the Erding district have already done so.

The deficit approach in the new budget was also significantly increased for other daycare facilities and schools.

Thanks to the improved figures on the revenue side, the draft still includes a transfer from the administrative to the asset budget of almost one million euros - last year a good 2.7 million euros went in the other direction.

There was no discussion.

Almost overwhelmed by the numbers, the local councilors unanimously approved the draft.

Mayor Bernhard Mücke (CSU) praised his administration's finance department for the "very good preparation" and predicted that the budget would be completely finalized at the meeting in two weeks.
