Highlights: Valentin Dene, 18, is an apprentice at the Brechon butchery in Saint-Maur-des-Fossés (Val-de-Marne) He won the competition for young butchers in the livestock and meat sector 2024, on February 25 at the Salon de l 'agriculture. “I wasn’t sure of myself, but what is certain is that I gave the best of myself. For once, I won,” he smiles.
Employed at the Brechon butcher's shop in Saint-Maur-des-Fossés (Val-de-Marne), the 18-year-old apprentice won the title among around twenty colleagues.
He is one of the best among the 8,000 apprentice butchers in France.
But he remains modest.
“I wasn’t sure of myself, but what is certain is that I gave the best of myself,” confides Valentin Dene.
