He is one of the best among the 8,000 apprentice butchers in France.
But he remains modest.
“I wasn’t sure of myself, but what is certain is that I gave the best of myself,” confides Valentin Dene.
The 18-year-old young man, apprentice at the Brechon butchery in Saint-Maur-des-Fossés (Val-de-Marne), won the competition for young butchers in the livestock and meat sector 2024, on February 25 at the Salon de l 'agriculture.
“For once, I won,” he smiles.
