For the 25th anniversary, Karl Rellensmanns was still chairman of the Herrsching music teachers' association and led the big anniversary concert.

For the 30th anniversary, which will be celebrated on Sunday, he confidently handed both over to his successor.

Herrsching

- Karl Rellensmann founded the music teachers' association 30 years ago, was chairman until 2019 and is still headmaster today.

At the end of February he celebrated his 70th birthday and therefore handed over the direction of a major concert for the first time.

Florian Weinhart, who replaced Rellensmann as board member in 2019, will lead the anniversary concert for the 30th anniversary of the Herrsching Music Teachers' Association (MLV) this Sunday, March 10th, in the House of Bavarian Agriculture together with Johanna Langmann.

“A lot has changed for the better,” says Rellensmann and is pleased.

Weinhart, whom he taught in the guitar class as a seven-year-old, has done good work with young talent.

The music school, known under the abbreviation MLV, now offers courses for songwriters and music production.

“We have a completely new digital system,” says Rellensmann.

This is thanks to the new chairman, who brought the use of modern technology and new styles to Ammersee after his stay at the Pop Academy in Liverpool.

This also includes the purchase of an electric drum kit, which was used in the homage to the musical Hair and which board member Christoph Zöller swears by because a drum kit is always too loud for all other acoustic instruments at concerts.

Instead of having to laboriously amplify each individual instrument, with electronic drums it is possible to turn the drums down.

This is also a blessing for the upcoming concert, says Rellensmann.

Around 100 participants between the ages of six and 80, including many of the 21 teachers, will be on stage for the approximately one-hour anniversary performance.

Rellensmann wrote the connecting text for the different contributions.

His main character in the article is named “Emil Pfau” – phonetically based on the three capital letters MLV.

At some point these sounded too dry for the headmaster, “Emil Pfau has been ghosting around ever since.”

Florian Weinhart finally set “Emil Pfau” to music and lets it fly musically in the concert on Sunday.

The concert title “A Peacock Flies” was obvious.

When the music teachers' association was founded in March 1994, the music school had 14 teachers.

Only a year earlier, integrated music lessons had been separated from the adult education center.

Rellensmann was already in charge back then.

The concert on Sunday starts at 5 p.m.

There is space for 300 visitors in the hall in the educational institution on Rieder Straße.

Admission is free.
