"Monitor the health of your cooperative. Thanks to an ad hoc digital tool".
This is the objective of Diacoop, the app designed by Federcasse and developed by a small Togolese company, to support the growth of the 275 rural women's cooperatives in Togo, members of the Union des groupements des femmesrurales du Togo network.
The initiative - in the wake of the development of the more general "The Bcc with Togo" project of the Cooperative Credit - intends to support the strengthening of the technical-production infrastructures of women's cooperatives, highlighting the organizational and managerial gaps.
The first step of this path is precisely the cooperative business diagnostics, with the support of the new "App", which will allow us to precisely define, cooperative by cooperative, what the strengths and weaknesses are and what the development and growth path to be draw.
The final objective is an annual increase in productivity, turnover and added value in a range of values between 5% and 10% of women's cooperatives.
Rural women are those most penalized by the structural difficulties facing the Togolese agricultural system.
Starting from the extreme difficulty in accessing credit.
Only 13.8% of the rural population is banked.
Agriculture represents less than 1% of the financing that the banking system allocates to the production system.
