After the episode of town entrance signs being turned over last November, farmers are once again expressing their anger, this time by drawing red lines in front of their farms.

On their Facebook page, Rural Coordination, an agricultural union, says it supports the

“Red Line”

operation carried out by farmers, particularly in Lot-et-Garonne and Haute-Vienne.

In front of their farms, the farmers draw a red line on the ground, in reference to the declarations of Gérald Darmanin on

.

On January 31, 2024, during the farmers' mobilizations, the Minister of the Interior had precisely

“reminded the demonstrators of his red lines”

, refusing them access to Rungis and Paris and opposing the blocking of airports.

A symbolic action

Under the images published on Facebook, Karine Duc, co-president of the Lot-et-Garonne Rural Coordination, calls for the red line to be fixed in front of each farm and repeats the demands of farmers:

“income, simplification of procedures, stopping unfair competition, freedom of enterprise, ease of installation and transmission, cash flow... And all the subjects discussed during these events that you all know by heart...".

Without these measures,

“Controllers, do not cross the red line!”

she concludes.

The symbol was thus taken up by the movement which addresses it

“to controllers and representatives of structures”

, relates Karine Duc to

.

The initiative also recalls the words that the mayor of Agen Jean Dionis had last February.

After actions carried out in front of the Agen prefecture, the councilor affirmed that

“the farmers had been able to respect the red line not to be crossed”

.

On Facebook, the Haute-Vienne Rural Coordination relays the farmers' commitment:

“As long as we are not heard, the State is taking big risks by crossing the red line!”
