Mountain rescuers from Bavaria and Tyrol practice together on Saturday in the Karwendel.

An avalanche rescue is staged with a total of 60 emergency services.

A cross-border avalanche operation exercise by the mountain rescue services in the Isarwinkel and Tyrol will take place this Saturday in the Schönalmjoch area in the Karwendel.

This is reported by the Lenggries mountain rescue service.

The Lenggries and Bad Tölz mountain rescue services as well as the local mountain rescue offices in Tyrol, Achenkirch and Maurach are taking part in the exercise.

A total of 60 emergency services are expected.

The exercise is also accompanied by units from the Alpine Task Force of the Bavarian State Police and the Bergwacht Hochland avalanche dog squad.

According to the announcement, two helicopters from the Bavarian State Police and the Tyrol Aviation Police will be in use to achieve the exercise scenario.
