The social worker Marcel Prohaska (SPD) replaces Mayor Stephan Keck on the local council.
He is not a newcomer; Prohaska has been on the board for almost 20 years.
Kirchheim – A “good old acquaintance and experienced local councilor”, as Mayor Stephan Keck (SPD) called him, is back on the local council.
Marcel Prohaska (59) sat on the committee from 2002 to 2020.
“Then I decided that 18 years was enough and, just for the sake of friendship, I let myself be listed again at number eleven,” says Prohaska.
He was moved up to sixth place and is now moving up to the newly elected mayor in the SPD parliamentary group until the next election in 2026.
One of Prohaska's wishes: to meet in the new Kirchheim town hall
Prohaska is married, has three adult children, a dog and, as a social worker, is the managing director of a company in the city of Munich and the district for the regional pay commission.
So he negotiates the accommodation and care costs in childcare facilities with independent providers.
“I haven't tried to get another local council position, but I'm happy to accept it now under an SPD mayor.” As he cycled past the new town hall, he kept thinking that it would be nice “to work as a local councilor in this great building .
Now perhaps the wish will come true – if the house is finished in the next two years.”
