Brand Studio for Telecom

For a few years now, technology has advanced in such a way in field work that we no longer only think about solutions that can come from machinery or seed genetics: However, and as a sign of a notable evolution in communications ,

Telecom

arrived at

Expoagro 2024

with the announcement of

the implementation of developments that bring connectivity to the places where the producer needs it

Telecom brings connectivity to the places where the producer needs it.

At the beginning of the year, the company had begun the deployment of connectivity infrastructure in the Buenos Aires districts of

Pergamino and Rojas

, within the framework of its strategic plan to promote the

AgTech

ecosystem .

It did so together with important companies in the sector's value chain: machinery manufacturers, input suppliers, seeds, insurance companies, among others.

The company deployed

seven new mobile sites

with 4G technology and IoT (Internet of Things) networks to strengthen connectivity in key rural regions for agricultural production.

At Expoagro 2024 they presented the progress of the plan that will cover an area of

more than 500 thousand hectares

.

Visitors were able to see demonstrations of how Telecom applies technology to the field.

The so-called AgTech ecosystem accelerated its growth in recent years, and went from being a possibility to a strong bet for local economic development.

As detailed by the company, the deployment is supported by the identification of key rural clusters (zones), "where the impact of connectivity can accelerate growth, development and digital inclusion."

Telecom and the growth of the Network: the Pergamino-Rojas cluster

As said, the work was jointly with interested companies in the region and municipalities, hence the name "collaborative cluster."

In the words of

Juan Pablo Cosentino ,

IoT Business

Development Manager at Telecom

, the Pergamino-Rojas urban connectivity cluster "is the integration of different actors in the value chain in the deployment of 500,000 hectares, which we call urban connectivity in rural areas. based on 4G, like the one we use in large urban centers".

The 2024 edition of Expoagro allowed the company to present this advance in society, in an event that included important guests.

The official presentation was attended by Pedro Vigneau, Chief of Staff of the Bioeconomy Secretariat of the National Government, Nicolás Gear, Director of Gear and president of ASA (Association of Argentine Seed Growers), Michael Dover, Director of the CREA Advisory Council, Hernán Verdaguer, Director of Regulatory Affairs of Telecom Argentina.

The event at Expoagro that served for Telecom to present the Pergamino-Rojas urban connectivity cluster.

These developments include the implementation of Networks with

Low Power

technology , exclusive for use in IoT solutions, which allows users to access a better connectivity experience and

Narrow Band IoT (NB-IoT)

technology .

The latter serves stationary applications with low bandwidth requirements, such as meteorological instruments, soil temperature and humidity level meters, and other environmental applications.

At Telecom they highlight the importance of connectivity to add technology to rural work.

On the other hand, Cosentino highlighted "the

importance of connectivity

as an enabler of technology incorporation."

"We have solutions based on traceability, solutions based on asset tracking, that is, vehicle loading and our personnel that, integrated, make up the operation of the business," he explained.

As reported, there are also solutions associated with what has to do with the "connected establishment", both through Telecom's own solutions and through strategic alliances that help control the efficiencies of production processes and the incorporation of technology that adds more value. to that process.

"Today - continued the manager - the great challenge of this connectivity in

rural areas

, the Pergamino-Rojas cluster, which is the first of many, comes to work on it jointly with the value chain to achieve it, that is, achieve high speed on our mobile terminals in places where before we only had the complaint that

'there is no signal here

'".

Telecom arrived with connectivity to two key points in the core area.

Finally, at the company's stand, Cosentino said that the company's vision is to "work, on the one hand, on strategic alliances for the contribution and co-creation of solutions and, on the other, the deployment of connectivity in "that rurality that allows the integration of productive actors, social actors and all rural areas."

At the Telecom stand at

Expoagro

, visitors could see demonstrations of digital solutions applied to the field such as

"Energy efficiency", "Phase detection", "Environmental storage variables" and "Irrigation monitoring"

.
