At the beginning of the year, the company had begun the deployment of connectivity infrastructure in the Buenos Aires districts of
Pergamino and Rojas
, within the framework of its strategic plan to promote the
AgTech
ecosystem .
It did so together with important companies in the sector's value chain: machinery manufacturers, input suppliers, seeds, insurance companies, among others.
The company deployed
seven new mobile sites
with 4G technology and IoT (Internet of Things) networks to strengthen connectivity in key rural regions for agricultural production.
At Expoagro 2024 they presented the progress of the plan that will cover an area of
more than 500 thousand hectares
.
Visitors were able to see demonstrations of how Telecom applies technology to the field.
The so-called AgTech ecosystem accelerated its growth in recent years, and went from being a possibility to a strong bet for local economic development.
As detailed by the company, the deployment is supported by the identification of key rural clusters (zones), "where the impact of connectivity can accelerate growth, development and digital inclusion."

, the Pergamino-Rojas urban connectivity cluster "is the integration of different actors in the value chain in the deployment of 500,000 hectares, which we call urban connectivity in rural areas. based on 4G, like the one we use in large urban centers".
The 2024 edition of Expoagro allowed the company to present this advance in society, in an event that included important guests.
The official presentation was attended by Pedro Vigneau, Chief of Staff of the Bioeconomy Secretariat of the National Government, Nicolás Gear, Director of Gear and president of ASA (Association of Argentine Seed Growers), Michael Dover, Director of the CREA Advisory Council, Hernán Verdaguer, Director of Regulatory Affairs of Telecom Argentina.

The presentation of the project was given by Fernando Freytes, Head of IoT at Telecom Argentina together with Juan Pablo Cosentino, IoT Business Development Manager at Telecom Argentina and was moderated by the journalist specialized in agribusiness and Content Director at Clarin Rural, Hector Huergo.
Among the attendees, local government authorities were also present, such as the mayor of the Pergamino Party, Javier Martínez, and the mayor of the Rojas Party, Román Bouvier.
In addition, executives from different companies and contributors participated, which are part of the collaborative development of Telecom.
