On this International Women's Rights Day, women's financial independence is remembered as one of the essential markers of their emancipation.
However, from a very young age, disparities exist in children's wallets.
Worse, they are even maintained by mothers, 73% of whom manage the return of this savings to families.
This percentage comes to us from the latest Pocket Money and Inequalities barometer, published by Le Teenage Lab by Pixpay, a payment card for teenagers.
According to the study, girls receive on average 6 euros less monthly pocket money than boys.
A figure which does not improve with age and reaches its peak among 16 to 18 year olds, with a striking monthly difference of 16.20 euros, or an annual surplus of 194.40 euros in favor of boys.
