The 34th edition of the Josefifest on Reutberg is just around the corner with a colorful supporting program.

Economics Minister Hubert Aiwanger also comes to the dairy farmers' evening.

Sachsenkam –

This Friday the big tent will be set up again on the meadow under the Reutberg Monastery.

The 34th Josefifest, organized by the Reutberg brewery, starts in a week.

There is a varied program from March 15th to 24th.

Brewery boss August Maerz would like better weather.

“It hasn't snowed all winter, so it doesn't have to anymore.” Dry weather would be an advantage, especially for construction and further preparatory work.

Everything has to be ready in a week.

Opening on March 15th

On Friday, March 15th, at 7 p.m., the festival's patron, Sachsenkam's mayor Andreas Rammler, will tap the first barrel and officially open the festival.

The Sachsenkamer Musikkapelle will provide the musical entertainment this evening.

As was the case last year, festival host Franz Ostler from Mittenwald will be taking care of the guests.

It was canceled last year, but this year it can be found again in the program: the “Wiagsogschneidn”.

It used to be held as a team competition, but now individual competitors compete against each other.

There are prizes to be won, “training should be worth it,” says Maerz.

It is almost certain that the 2,200-person tent will be full.

Experience has shown that Saturdays in particular are in high demand.

“But the festival is always well attended, even on Fridays.” Numerous buses have registered and reservations are also available for individuals.

The phone is currently ringing in the brewery office, reports Maerz.

Traditional fashion show at the end of the festival week

Deputy Prime Minister Hubert Aiwanger (Free Voters) is expected to be a prominent speaker at the dairy farmers' evening on Monday, March 18th.

“Something will happen in the tent.

“It’s a big crowd puller at the moment,” estimates Maerz.

Ilse Aigner (CSU), President of the Bavarian State Parliament, unfortunately doesn't have time.

“But she said she would come next year.”

On St. Joseph's Day, March 19th, the Tanzlmusi plays during the boiled meat meal.

Many comrades will traditionally be there for the general meeting on Wednesday, March 20th.

Only members have access here.

A particularly popular item every year is the traditional costume fashion show.

This year, instead of the previous two, three traditional costume shops are presenting their fashions on the catwalk.

This date is also the end of the St. Joseph's Festival and will take place on March 24th at 7 p.m. (see box for the entire program).

The Josefi Festival is so popular that it has sometimes become crowded in recent years.

“Sometimes we could have used a bigger tent,” says Maerz.

But it should always remain within the same framework.

“We hope that it will be a good celebration this time too.”
