The municipality of Moosinning passes its budget.

Cuts are planned for voluntary services.

– The Moosinning local council approved the budget for 2024 relatively quickly at its meeting on Tuesday evening.

It had already been “searched through” in a lengthy meeting in February and everything had been prepared.

According to the plan, the budget closes with around 14.6 million euros in the assets budget and around 7 million euros in the assets budget.

For example, personnel costs have increased by around 330,000 euros, the costs under the Bavarian Child Education and Care Act (BayKiBiG) have increased by around 228,000 euros, and the district levy has increased by 220,000 euros.

“We are facing major challenges,” explained Mayor Georg Nagler (SPD).

“We have to push ahead with large projects, such as the children's home in Eichenried.” Anneliese Ways (SPD, non-party) wanted to know what major projects were coming up in the district.

First and foremost is the clinic, explained the mayor.

“Corona is still having an impact.” And he added: “We believe that next year will be even more challenging.” The schools are important, he said.

“We want good school provision.

We have to support this as partners.”

Treasurer Susanne Pröschkowitz explained that around 606,000 euros from the administrative budget could currently be allocated to the property budget, and she warned: “There would have to be more.” Among other things, she pointed out the subsidies for lawn care associations.

These should be checked every three years.

At the February meeting there was discussion about possibly canceling these subsidies completely.

But it was ultimately suggested that it be reduced by 25 percent, which the local council decided with two votes against.

For the year 2024, 14,250 euros are currently planned for SV Eichenried and 15,000 euros for FC Moosinning in the budget.

The mayor saw this as a “start to the exit – we have to slowly reduce voluntary benefits”.

As far as other subsidies are concerned, the clubs don't have to worry this year.

“The other grants that were applied for last year will still be paid out in 2024,” promised community leader Nagler.

The situation is different for 2025, “because this year the clubs can no longer apply for anything.”

If the construction of the children's home has been postponed until 2025, what about subsidies, Andreas Humplmair (CSU) wanted to know.

“They only exist when something has already been built,” explained Pröschkowitz.

And when Humplmair asked how far along the sale of the municipal agricultural property worth 1.5 million euros was, the treasurer said: “That is in the planning stage, but nothing has been decided yet.” The budget was finally approved unanimously.
