A 35-year-old man,
“recently released from prison”
and tried in March 2022 for a drug case, was shot and killed Friday morning in Ajaccio, the city prosecutor said.
The events took place shortly after 7:00 a.m. in a parking lot in the Pietralba district where the victim was hit by
“several gunshots”
, said the public prosecutor of Ajaccio, Nicolas Septe, in a press release.
“The first investigations are focused on the collection of direct testimony from the crime scene”
, specifies the magistrate while the facts took place near a bakery and a school.

An investigation was opened on the charge of intentional homicide and entrusted to the interdepartmental direction of the national police of Corsica-du-Sud, added the prosecutor who indicates that
“several avenues are being studied including that of a settlement of accounts against a background of drug trafficking without this avenue being able, at this stage, to be favored over the others
.
In March 2022, the man was tried with 14 other defendants by the Ajaccio criminal court for drug trafficking dating back to 2015.
