Christoph Zidek: Honest finder gave away hundreds.

They still exist, the honest people: two men from the region lost something - and got it back completely thanks to honest finders.

Schongau/Altenstadt – They still exist: the honest people in this world.

Two readers independently contacted the local newspaper to share their very personal stories of happiness with others.

One of them is Christoph Zidek from Altenstadt.

While shopping in Schongau-West he loses a 100 euro note.

When he gets home, he notices the bitter loss, immediately drives back and searches - in the store, in the parking lot.

“Even though it was completely clear to me: If there's a hundred euro there, it's gone.” In the evening he calls the shop and leaves his details.

Nobody found a hundred there.

When Zidek's phone rings the next day, he can't believe his luck: an older woman found the large bill among the shopping carts in front of the store - and handed it in.

Just yesterday, Christoph Zidek wrote a letter to the previously unknown senior citizen who often shops in the store.

“For me, it’s not primarily about the 100 euro note,” he says of the content of the letter.

“I find it so unbelievable that someone has this attitude: It doesn't belong to me, it's missing somewhere, it doesn't belong to me, I'll give it back.” For Christoph Zidek, his hundred story is a testament to decency and character – “and me I'll tell this story to everyone."

An older gentleman from Schongau has also gratefully contacted the local newspaper and would like to tell his encouraging story - but he doesn't want to read his name in the newspaper.

It's been a week since the Schongauer had just filled up his wallet at the bank.

We continued by car to the pharmacy.

“I came out there fully loaded, hat, pack and wallet under my arm.

It must have happened then.” Shortly afterwards he notices: Oh, horror, the wallet is gone.

“It was a big shock.”

The man searches around the car, “under the car, like you do when you’re hectic.”

The wallet cannot be found.

The man from Schongau decides to go home.

The mental cinema is already taking place in the car: “I immediately thought about all the inconveniences I would face.” Block cards, reapply for ID and driving license.

When he turns into the driveway at home, his wife stands in the doorway and waves - to the Schongauer's surprise with his wallet in her hand.

A young man had handed it in shortly before after looking in his wallet.

“And nothing was missing!” The man from Schongau can’t believe it.

“Something like this is not everyday.

Especially not in our time!”

“I feel the need to thank you personally.”
