It's been almost a month since the Greens canceled their political Ash Wednesday due to sometimes violent protests.
Now the investigators are one step further.
Biberach - During the sometimes violent protests surrounding the Green Party's political Ash Wednesday in Biberach, a 43-year-old man is said to have broken the car window on a vehicle accompanying Federal Agriculture Minister Cem Özdemir.
The man from the Sigmaringen district was identified as the suspected thrower of a folding rule, the Ravensburg public prosecutor's office and the police announced on Friday.
“During a search, incriminating evidence was recovered from the man,” it said.
According to this information, he is being investigated, among other things, on suspicion of a particularly serious case of breach of the peace and attempted grievous bodily harm.
An arrest warrant was not issued, a spokeswoman for the public prosecutor's office said.
On Ash Wednesday, a protest in Biberach an der Riß got so bad that the Greens canceled their event at short notice for security reasons.
Several police officers were injured during the protests on February 14th, and officers also used pepper spray.
Federal Agriculture Minister Cem Özdemir and Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann (both Greens) were expected in Biberach.
