The 2024 edition of the Me.Mo (Merit and Social Mobility) project is underway, promoted by the ScuolaSuperiore Sant'Anna of Pisa to accompany 370 students in their university choice.

The opening event of the route will be held on March 11th at 3pm: it will take place in online mode, with the participation of former world champion volleyball player Andrea Zorzi.

'On the roof of the world', the title, recalling the final of the 1990 volleyball world championships, won by Italy led by Zorzi who will talk about his sporting experience by discussing the choices made as a young man reread on the basis of his experience as an adult, encouraging students to think about their future with a broad perspective.

The 370 young people, it should be remembered, were selected from among the over one thousand who applied - with parents who did not graduate, coming from the upper fourth classes from all over Italy - to begin an orientation process towards choosing university.

The project was regulated by a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Education and Merit and is an orientation path selected for financing through the Pnrr.

The Me.Mo project, it is further explained, aims to bring students in their fourth year of secondary school, who have passed the selection phase, closer to the university world, considering the starting point and their family and socio-economic context: these are the female students and first generation students, i.e. those who experience university studies for the first time in their family, all having non-graduate parents.

The start of the new edition is an opportunity to get to know each other and begin to interact with your tutors, that is, students of Sant'Anna, the Scuola NormaleSuperiore and the university colleges of merit.

They will be the tutors to follow the 370 young people over the next few months.

Sara Barsanti, coordinator of the project, will also speak on March 11th, presenting the main stages.
